Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use and share it, and your choices. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

Information you provide

• Account information: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password).
• Study content you submit: questions and messages you send to the AI study coach, and any feedback you provide.

Information generated by your use

• Progress and usage data: your quiz results, answered questions, saved progress, study activity, and preferences.
• AI interaction data: your chat inputs and the responses returned, and short “study context” notes used to personalize the coach.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and general log data.
• Cookies / local storage: used for authentication (keeping you logged in), saving preferences and progress, and basic functionality. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.

Payments: the Service is currently a free beta and we do not collect payment information. If paid plans launch, payments will be handled by a third-party processor (e.g., Stripe) and this Policy will be updated to describe it.

We use information to: (a) provide and operate the Service and your account; (b) save and sync your study progress; (c) power and personalize the AI study coach; (d) communicate with you about your account, security, and service changes; (e) maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms; (f) improve the Service; and (g) comply with legal obligations. We do not sell or share your personal information.

To generate study-coach responses, your questions and relevant retrieved study text are sent to third-party AI providers for processing:

• OpenAI — generates text embeddings used to search our study materials (United States).
• DeepSeek — generates chat responses; may process your inputs on servers outside the United States.

We do not control these providers’ retention or model-training practices; review their policies. Do not submit confidential, patient-identifying, or personal health information to the AI coach.

We share personal information with trusted third-party vendors (“subprocessors”) who process it on our behalf under agreements requiring appropriate confidentiality and security. We do not sell your personal information. Our current subprocessors are:

As the Service evolves we may add, remove, or replace subprocessors. For a material change we will update this Policy, revise the effective date, and where appropriate notify you. We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

We keep your account and study data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and we retain certain records where required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion as described below.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (e.g., encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these, contact arikleine@gmail.com. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. The Service is intended for veterinary professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact arikleine@gmail.com and we will delete it.

The Service is operated from the United States, and information — including the AI processing described in Section 4 — may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred and processed in those locations.

We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes we will provide notice (e.g., by email or in-app) and update the effective date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
