1. Agreement to these Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
PLEASE NOTE: Section 14 contains an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver that affect how disputes between you and us are resolved. You may opt out as described there.
2. What the Service is
The Service is an independent, supplemental study aidfor individuals preparing for the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses (“AVECCTN”) Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care — VTS(ECC) — certification examination. It provides practice questions modeled on the published examination blueprint, study guides derived from the recommended-reading textbooks, drug and calculation references, and an AI-assisted study coach. A limited free sample of the Service is available without payment; full access requires an active paid access pass as described in Section 5.
3. Not affiliated; no guarantee; educational use only
Please read this section carefully.
- Not affiliated or endorsed. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to AVECCTN, any certifying body, or any textbook author or publisher. References to those names are descriptive only.
- No guarantee of results. We do not guarantee that using the Service — including purchasing any access pass — will result in a passing score on the VTS(ECC) examination or any other outcome. Individual results vary.
- A supplement, not a replacement. The Service supplements — and does not replace — the official recommended-reading textbooks or any official examination materials.
- Not clinical advice. Nothing in the Service, including any drug dose, calculation, protocol, or AI-generated response, is intended to guide patient care or clinical decision-making. It is NOT FOR CLINICAL USE.Always verify clinical information against current primary sources (e.g., Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook) and your own professional judgment and institutional protocols.
- Not real exam items. Practice questions are original items modeled on the published blueprint; they are not real, secured examination questions.
4. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information, for keeping your login secure, and for all activity under your account. Accounts are for a single individual; do not share your login or your access pass.
- Notify us promptly at support@eccvtsprep.com of any unauthorized use.
5. Paid access passes; billing
- What you’re buying. The Service is sold as one-time, time-boxed access passes that unlock the full question bank, mock exams, and the AI study coach for a fixed period from the date of purchase: a 3-month pass (90 days, $249), a 6-month pass (180 days, $399), or a 12-month pass (365 days, $599). Current prices are shown at checkout and control if they differ from this list.
- No subscription, no auto-renewal. Passes are a single, one-time charge. They do not automatically renew and do notautomatically charge you again. When a pass expires, access to paid features ends unless you purchase a new pass. A limited free sample remains available after expiration.
- Stacking. If you purchase a new pass while an existing pass is still active, the new pass’s duration is added to your current access, extending your expiration date rather than starting over or running concurrently.
- We are the seller; Stripe is our payment processor. Access passes are sold directly by VTS(ECC) Exam Prep, operated by Ari Kleine. We — not a reseller — are the seller of record on your receipt and the party you transact with for billing purposes. Card payments are processed on our behalf by Stripe, Inc.(“Stripe”): payment details are entered on Stripe’s own hosted checkout page, and we never receive, process, or store your full payment card number. Your use of Stripe’s checkout is also subject to Stripe’s own terms and privacy notice (see the Privacy Policy, Section 4). Your card statement will show ECCVTSPREP.COM.
- Pricing and currency. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise at checkout. Any sales tax that applies to your billing location is calculated and added at checkout and shown to you before you confirm payment, so your total may exceed the listed price.
- Access is tied to your account, not to a device or a specific browser. Do not share your account or access pass with others; see Sections 4 and 9.
6. Refunds and cancellations
A free sample of the Service — including sample practice questions with full answers and rationales — is available before purchase so you can evaluate the content and format for yourself. Because an access pass unlocks the complete digital content of the Service (the full question bank, mock exams, and AI coach) immediately upon purchase, our policy is that all access-pass purchases are final and non-refundable, except (a) where a refund is required by applicable law, (b) at our discretion in cases of demonstrable billing error or duplicate charge, or (c) at our discretion as a partial price adjustment or goodwill credit, which returns part of what you paid and does not cancel your access pass. None of these exceptions creates an entitlement to a refund. Contact support@eccvtsprep.com with any billing concern.
Because we are the seller of your access pass (see Section 5), refund requests come to us directly at support@eccvtsprep.comrather than to a third-party reseller, and any refund we issue is returned to your original payment method through Stripe. Where the policy above conflicts with refund, withdrawal, or “cooling-off” rights you hold under mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction, those rights control. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
A full refund revokes the associated access pass; paid features will be locked at that point unless other active access remains on your account. A partial refund — for example a price adjustment or goodwill credit — does not revoke your pass; the money is returned and your access continues unchanged. A chargeback revokes the pass in full regardless of the amount disputed.
7. AI study coach
You understand and agree that:
- Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, even when citing a source. Always verify against the cited primary source and your own judgment.
- The AI coach is a study aid only and is not clinical decision support.
- The AI coach is a paid feature; an active access pass is required to use it, aside from any limited free-sample interactions we may offer.
- To generate responses, your questions and relevant retrieved text are processed by third-party AI providers, which may process data outside your country. See the Privacy Policy.
- Do not submit confidential patient-identifying information or personal health information to the AI coach.
8. Intellectual property, license, and copyright
- Our content; copyright. The Service’s content — including our answer explanations, study guides, drug and calculation references, software, layout, and design, and the selection, coordination, arrangement, curation, and editorial refinement of the question bank — is © 2026 VTS(ECC) Exam Prep, operated by Ari Kleine, and/or its licensors, and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The question bank is an original compilation created and clinically curated by us; it is not a reproduction of any AVECCTN or other certifying-body examination materials. Regardless of the copyright status of any individual item, your access to and use of the question bank are governed by the license and restrictions in this Section, which apply as a matter of contract.
- Third-party content. Underlying medical/veterinary facts, and any content belonging to textbook authors, publishers, or third-party websites, remain the property of their respective owners.
- Your license. Subject to these Terms — including maintaining an active access pass where required — we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own exam preparation.
- Restrictions. You may not copy, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense, scrape, data-mine, bulk-download, or create derivative works from the Service or its content; share your account or access pass; extract the question bank in bulk; use screen-recording or automated tools to reproduce the question bank; or use the Service to build a competing product.
- Reporting infringement. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact support@eccvtsprep.com.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) violate any law; (b) infringe others’ rights; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; (d) interfere with or disrupt the Service; (e) use automated means (bots, scrapers) except as expressly permitted; (f) resell or redistribute any part of the Service or your access pass; or (g) attempt to obtain a refund in bad faith after substantially using the paid content (see Section 6).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content (including AI-generated content) will be accurate or reliable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VTS(ECC) Exam Prep, operated by Ari Kleine will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service — including any reliance on content or AI-generated responses, any examination outcome, or any payment-processing issue involving our payment processor. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid for the access pass giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (US $50).
12. Termination and changes
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service, and you may stop using the Service at any time. Termination for your violation of these Terms does not entitle you to a refund of any active access pass. We may update these Terms; for material changes we will provide reasonable notice and update the effective date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and by applicable United States federal law. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@eccvtsprep.com so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
Subject to Section 14 (which requires arbitration of most disputes), any claim that is not subject to arbitration and is not brought in small-claims court must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Dispute resolution; binding arbitration; class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully — it requires most disputes to be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, and it waives class actions and jury trials. You may opt out within 30 days, as described below.
- Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration, you agree to give us written notice of the dispute at support@eccvtsprep.com or by mail at PO Box 47615, Los Angeles, CA 90047, and allow 30 days for us to try to resolve it with you informally.
- Binding individual arbitration. Except as provided below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, before a single arbitrator. The arbitration will be conducted in English, by videoconference or written submissions where the rules allow, or in person in the county where you reside (or another mutually agreed location). Payment of filing, administration, and arbitrator fees is governed by the AAA’s rules.
- What this section does not cover. Either party may (i) bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies; (ii) seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property (including bulk extraction of the question bank); and (iii) seek public injunctive relief in court where the right to do so cannot lawfully be waived.
- Class-action and jury waiver. You and we each waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may award relief only in favor of the individual party seeking relief. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) must proceed in court rather than in arbitration.
- 30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement and class-action waiver by emailing support@eccvtsprep.com, or by written notice mailed to PO Box 47615, Los Angeles, CA 90047, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, account email, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.
15. General
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
- Entire agreement; no waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
- California consumer notice.Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California users may reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
